Works great with the Prodigy

The unit should come with a thigh strap

Some minor fitting issues, overall great product.

Love the releasing system, it is probably the best part of the holster.

Two major fitting issues, but for the record, I have changed the grip to MPA grips, so I'm not sure about OEM grip fitting. First the holster edge pinches on the magazine release, and there are some wobbly room that could hit the release causing the magazine to drop. Second, the retention flap hits the beavertail, causing the flap unable to lock in. Both of the problems can be solved with a dremel work.

The original QD system can be changed to other systems such as Gcode or Safariland by removing the screws. The OEM QD system is pretty wobbly, and so far I haven't found a good method to hold it in place.

Prodigy Holster

Thank you for being the first to make a good range holster for the new prodigy. Was a little tight, so I had to loosen the tensioners all The way. It does wiggle around a lot between the holster and drop extension. Other than that, it’s fast and performed well. Being able to change the draw angle is a great feature.

It’s Decent

When I initially ordered this holster I was sent a prototype prodigy holster that was not supposed to leave the warehouse and did not work with my gun. The problem was quickly remedied and BSG sent a replacement. After using the new holster for a couple weeks now, I can say it works as advertised. For the price it’s hard to beat. My only suggestion to research and development would be to figure out a more ergonomic thumb lever to defeat the retention hood system. Where its currently located causes me to need to readjust my grip after defeating the hood. At the time of this review BSG is literally the only company I’m aware of that offers a level 2 retention light/optic ready holster for the 5” Prodigy. I have several level 2/3 safariland holsters that I love and consider them to be the gold standard in a duty holster. The BSG duty holster for the prodigy is no where near the quality of a safariland, but at half the price I would say the holster does the job it’s designed to do fairly well.
